NFL Roundup: Broncos Narrowly Beat Hapless Jets in Defensive Affair

In a low-scoring contest on Sunday, the Broncos clinched a close victory over the struggling New York Jets. Quarterback Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz kicked the game-winning decisive three-pointer to secure the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Seals Game

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets QB Justin Fields, the Broncos found themselves trailing 11-10 following giving up a safety in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets could only produce a mere 82 offensive yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who went 19 of 30 passes for 174 yards, led a critical 12-play, 65-yard drive that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes left.

Record Difficulties for Jets Attack

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained possession with a chance to drive for a potential winning score. But Fields was tackled on fourth-and-eight from the Denver 44 after coach Aaron Glenn chose to attempt the conversion instead of sending out kicker Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

Fields had difficulties all game, connecting on just 9 of 17 passes for 45 yards. New York ended up with minus-10 net yards passing, the fewest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," Glenn stated after the contest.
